Quickly following a major software release for its MONTONE.42 Audio-over-IP bridge, DirectOut has announced a further major improvement in adding support for Merging Technologies’ ANEMAN Audio Network Manager.
DirectOut has chosen IBC2017 to showcase MONTONE.42 with ANEMAN in action. ANEMAN is freely available software from Merging Technologies bringing centralized stream configuration and device management across an entire network, mainly but not exclusively supporting RAVENNA/AES67 devices. A typical routing matrix configuration allows crosspoints to be set between different networked audio devices, independent of the manufacturer or device type – there is no requirement to individually address each device involved to set up streams. Complex connections and system infrastructures can be organized in groups, saved and restored at any time.
“We have been seeing increasing demand for a simple and centralized way to organize RAVENNA devices and streams,” explains Claudio Becker-Foss, specialist for networked audio at DirectOut. “ANEMAN is a perfect tool to configure a RAVENNA setup with just a few mouse clicks, and we are more than happy to support Merging Technologies’ initiative to significantly improve the handling of RAVENNA setups.”
Nicolas Sturmel, ANEMAN product manager and senior technologist at Merging Technologies: „With ANEMAN, Merging Technologies is providing a new and simpler user experience to audio networking. We are pleased to welcome Direct Out as a new compatible manufacturer into this open and shared ecosystem. Working together for a better user experience with AES67 will improve our products and make them easier to use.“
