A fresh software update to DirectOut’s MONTONE.42 MADI/Audio-over-IP bridge brings greatly improved usability and increased flexibility.
With a user interface that has been completely revised and is now based on HTML5 and java-script, a new menu structure provides quick access to all relevant system and streaming information. Detailed adjustments can be made in the Advanced Settings area, ensuring that MONTONE.42 can be used in demanding and complex network infrastructures where the ability to adjust parameters – like QoS and PTP values – is key.
Using a native RAVENNA implementation, MONTONE.42 already supports the coming SMPTE ST2110-30 standard. This facility includes the ability to synchronize to Grandmasters running the SMPTE ST2059-2 PTP profile.
Recognising an increasing demand for network-based transmission and control in professional audio environments, MONTONE.42 is designed to be an inherent part of many of the latest IP-based media networks. The new interface provides seamless integration of networked audio with existing infrastructures, and allows the unit to serve as a versatile link in broadcast, live sound and studio applications.
Over the past two years of service, MONTONE.42 has proven itself to be a powerful and highly interoperable system, and constant improvement of the adoption and implementation of new standards ensures that it will remain the path of choice for migration to networked media operation.
